Quality products … for quality builds
This stylish, contemporary villa (The Heights) offers an inviting, open-plan layout, complete with extensive glazing to maximise its stunning location overlooking the Southern Alps and Lake Wanaka. Designed by Condon Scott Architects and built by Nigel Lock Builders this beautiful home is a testament to the craftmanship and skill of Nigel and his team.
Nigel says that to ensure he keeps his projects on track and at the highest quality he only deals with Firth for all his concrete and concrete product needs.
“It’s not just me that chooses Firth, the concrete placers want to use Firth concrete also,” explains Nigel. “I deal with Firth Wanaka and the batcher there (Tash) is really good. She knows what she’s doing and we get good service and concrete.”
“Nigel and his crew are very good builders,” says Sana Muliaina, Certified Plant Manager Wanaka & Cromwell Certified for Firth. “For ‘The Heights’ Firth Wanaka supplied blockfill mix, standard mixes for the floor slab, our 13mm Exposed Aggregate for around the house, and the charcoal oxide concrete for the driveway.”
“It was a huge effort by all our trades to get this home finished during really trying times over 2021 and 2022,” adds Nigel. “But it was worth it. The customer was very happy.”
Ruby Ridge, Wanaka
Another home in the vicinity built by Nigel and designed by Condon Scott Architects was ‘Ruby Ridge’ which also features concrete from Firth … and some amazing insitu board form concrete features around both the indoor and outdoor fireplaces.
Ruby Ridge, Wanaka features in-situ board-form concrete fireplace features.
Nigel says he first started his relationship with Firth when he was running a business in the North Island before moving to Wanaka in 2000. “It’s a long-standing relationship that I trust.”
