Fibre Reinforced (FRC)
Firth pioneered the introduction of steel fibre concrete into the commercial sector of NZ, and then post the Canterbury earthquakes introduced solutions for the residential sector which are now commonly use in TC2 and TC3 foundation solutions. Steel, micro, and macro synthetic fibres, Firth have concrete mix designs and experience in the use of the large range of available fibre types.
Fibres are typically used to prevent plastic shrinkage (micro synthetic), in industrial floors, and as shear reinforcing in Firth RibRaft floors in liquefaction zones.
