Market-leading parental leave
At Firth we are committed to support our people through the most important moments of their lives, especially when raising a family.
This is why we have one of the market-leading and gender-neutral parental leave in the market.
Primary carer leave
Base salary top-up to 100% for 26 weeks (6 months)
Secondary carer leave
4 weeks full paid leave.
Phased return to work
Returning to work can be hard, this is why we offer to work part-time at 80% and receive full pay for 6 months (e.g. work 32 hours per week but receive 40 hours pay).
Additional benefits
- Additional 5 days of ‘new parents’ leave for both primary & secondary carers, valid for one year after return.
- Continued employer contributions to KiwiSaver / superannuation for primary carers during the top-up period.
- Continue to pay annual leave upon return from parental leave at the employee’s normal pay salary at the time leave is taken rather than their earnings over the previous 12 months.
