To accommodate the increasing demands of the Auckland construction industry in South Auckland, Firth is proud to announce the opening of its brand new flagship plant in Manukau, Auckland. The plant, now fully commissioned, produced its first batch of concrete at the end of October.
“This will future proof our production capability in South Auckland over the next 20 years,” says Jeremy Silcock, Head of Certified (Northern) for Firth. “The central mixer plant has a capacity of approximately 120m3 per hour – or a load every three minutes. It is Auckland’s largest plant and has started to service customers throughout South Auckland - from Mt Eden to Beachlands and down to Pukekohe.”
The plant will eventually support 20 trucks and drivers with five production team members as well as a technical and lab team on site.
“With the addition of this plant in South Auckland this truly ensures the level of service to our customer base throughout the city and its southern outskirts,” says Cameron Lee, General Manager for Firth. “We are fortunate that, with the coverage we have whenever there are large volumes required in one location, our plants and teams are geared up to cover requirements throughout the region and, in fact, the entire country.”
“A big thank you to Jeremy Silcock, Head of Certified (Northern) and Jon Hambling, National Technical Manager, and their teams, for getting this plant operating and servicing the needs of our customers.”
